Public Sector Duty

Public bodies in Ireland must promote equality, prevent discrimination and protect the human rights of their staff, service users and all those affected by their policies and actions.

This legal obligation is known as the Public Sector Equality and Human Rights Duty and is set out in Section 42 of the Irish Human Rights and Equality Act 2014.

We are committed to promoting a culture of respect for human rights and equality among our staff and the public we serve.

We have assessed the human rights and equality issues relevant to our work and continue to meet our obligations under the legislation.
