Social Policy and Research

The Citizens Information Board engages in social policy and research in line with the functions outlined in the Comhairle Act 2000 "to support, promote and develop the provision of information on the effectiveness of current social policy and services and to highlight issues which are of concern to users of those services."

Data and feedback from the frontline services funded and supported by CIB provides a large body of evidence. CIB also collaborates and consults with other public bodies and voluntary sector organisations in developing an evidence-based policy perspective. This enables CIB to produce robust and topical policy reports, submissions and papers.

Social Policy Update

Social Policy Update is CIB’s newsletter featuring our social policy and research work, social policy feedback from services and national policy developments. See Social Policy Update

These reports cover systemic issues impacting people in vulnerable situations with a focus on equity of access to services in housing, health, social welfare, education, consumer, and financial services. Policy Submissions

The Citizens Information Board publishes reports on topical social policy issues and on the effectiveness of current social policy and services. These reports focus on policy and administrative difficulties brought to our attention through the data and social policy feedback from our frontline services. We commission and publish research on the policy concerns of clients of CIB funded services with the aim of supporting targeted policy responses and service interventions. See Policy Submissions
