If you know someone in mortgage arrears or at risk of losing their home, they may be eligible for free face-to-face debt, insolvency, financial, or legal advice under the Abhaile scheme
Do you need help with your home mortgage arrears?
Abhaile is an independent, confidential, and free State-funded service that helps mortgage holders in arrears find the best solution to stay, wherever possible, in their homes.
A dedicated adviser works with borrowers and their lenders to find the best solution for each unique situation. The adviser ensures the borrower can access expert and professional support to find a solution.
The Abhaile service is jointly coordinated and funded by the Department of Justice and the Department of Social Protection. MABS, the Insolvency Service of Ireland (ISI), the Legal Aid Board (LAB), and the Citizens Information Board work together to administer Abhaile.
We support Abhaile through oversight and communications functions.
