CIB made a submission to the Department of Social Protection in response to its public consultation on the cost of disability.


The submission presents relevant data from services including the specific additional costs relating to disability, and highlights issues relating to eligibility for a cost of disability payment.

CIB Submission on the Child and Family Homelessness Action Plan (February 2026)

The Citizens Information Board (CIB) made a submission to the public consultation on the cross-Departmental Child and Family Homelessness Action Plan.


In this submission, we used data and social policy feedback from Citizens Information Services as evidence for key measures to be included in the Action Plan. These related to addressing child poverty, lone parents and homelessness, making HAP more suitable for families, supporting families to stay in their communities, and improving the social housing application process.

CIB Submission to the Legal Services Regulatory Authority Annual Report 2025 on Admissions Policies of the Legal Professions (January 2026)

The Citizens Information Board (CIB) - as a member of the Legal Services Regulatory Authority - made a submission to inform the Authority’s 2025 Annual Report on Admissions Policies of the Legal Professions. Access to justice and legal services continues to be an important element of the work that CIB funded services provide to clients.


In this submission, we outlined key concerns for clients of Citizens Information Services with regards to access to legal professionals, including cost, waiting lists for civil legal aid and accessing solicitors in Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act cases.
